Garlic & Onion Plaiting

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Our first set of Onions were ready to be harvested this week, and are now drying in the sunshine.  Mr O also turned his hand to plaiting the Garlic, ready for hanging, which looks fab.  Not only is this a pretty and convenient method of storage, it also allows air to circulate, which keeps the Garlic fresh for longer.  Next we’ll plait the Onions and store them in the same way.  Ooo la la !

  2. Lovely onions! I too have had diddly red onions. Not sure what it is about them. Lovely to eat, but just can’t get them any bigger than salad onions.

    1. Not sure why the red ones didn’t grow very big either, but the others are making up for it ! 🙂
